Milwaukee is about to welcome a vibrant new piece of public art that’s sure to catch the eye and lift the spirits of locals and visitors alike.
The “Field of Play” mural, designed by celebrated Milwaukee artist Whitney Nettles, will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, August 27th, at the Little Village Play Café.
A Celebration of Community and Creativity
Sponsored by the Milwaukee Brewers, the “Field of Play” mural is part of a broader initiative to bring art into the heart of our community. This mural is the second in a series aimed at supporting local artists and businesses while fostering a deeper connection between the arts and sports.
Whitney Nettles, who is well-known for her colorful and dynamic designs, has transformed the east-facing wall of the Little Village Play Café into a lively tableau that celebrates community, teamwork, and the joy of play.
The mural’s design reflects the energy and spirit of Milwaukee, with elements that pay homage to both the local art scene and the city’s deep-rooted love for baseball.
