Wellpoint Care Network, a Milwaukee-based non-profit organization, announced a summer series of group classes to help kids explore mindfulness, creativity, healing, and more.
Milwaukee With Kids is proud to partner with them to spread the word about their summer classes for youth.
Each class is offered one day each week for eight weeks total from June 20 – August 15, 2022, and are now open to all children ages 6–18. (no classes the week of July 4).
Participating youth will need to have an appointment with one of Wellpoint’s clinical therapists prior to the first day of class so they can be placed with peers by age and developmental level.
Services will be billed through insurance.
TUESDAYS: CREATIVE EXPLORATION
Your kids will explore individuality and identity alongside their peers in this fun, creativity-focused therapy group. Each week, they’ll embark on a new adventure of self-discovery, including the use of music, art, rhythm and movement.

WEDNESDAYS: GO WITH THE FLOW
Ready, set, meditate? Kids will learn mindful activities to help connect to their bodies to relax and regulate. Great for children with big emotions or trouble focusing. Each week will offer an engaging new activity, such as yoga, meditation or music.

THURSDAYS: BUILDING WELLNESS
Kids will develop an age-appropriate toolbox of skills to help manage their emotions and behaviors from a range of proven therapy styles, including distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness strategies.

Calie Herbst, Editor-in-Chief of Milwaukee With Kids, has spent over a decade combining her experiences as a parent of three to create a hub for Milwaukee’s family adventures.
Her decade-long teaching career in Milwaukee Public Schools and academic background, including a Master’s in Teaching from Marquette University and dual B.A.s in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, fuel her passion for inclusive and engaging family content.
Calie is also a recognized voice in local media, contributing to WISN Channel 12 News, WTMJ Wisconsin Morning News, Fox 6’s Real Milwaukee, and B93.3.
