Inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved novel, The Secret Garden exhibit at the Warehouse Art Museum offers visitors a refuge from Wisconsin’s gloom winter and early spring weather.
The kid-friendly exhibit is an explosion of color, fantasy, and imagination waiting to be explored through paintings, drawings, works on paper, photographs, murals, sculpture, ceramics, and glass.
The gallery space is completely accessible for small children and strollers. There is also a coloring activity, a reading book for parents and kids to enjoy, and the movie “The Secret Garden” is playing in the background.
It is curated from The Warehouse Art Museum’s nationally recognized permanent collection, together with new works commissioned for the show.
Visitors will turn through the garden’s secret passageways, surrounded by surprise, serenity, beauty, and fairy-tale charm.
The exhibit features over 100 works from the museums’ permanent collection, plus a brand new work by local artist Emma Daisy commissioned specifically for the show.
The museum is free and open to the public, weekdays from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This show runs through May 27th.
