Slick City Action Park in Wauwatosa has finally opened – the first of its kind in Wisconsin and a thrilling addition to family-friendly outings in the Milwaukee area.

This 60,000-square-foot indoor “dry-slide” park offers heart-pumping slides like “Big Wave,” “Off Ramp,” and “Mega Launch.” The park also features a mini cart track, zip line, trapeze, swing, and a jungle area designed especially for younger visitors.

Our Experience at Slick City

When my family and I visited recently, my kids couldn’t get enough of the slides—they raced up the stairs and came shooting down faster than I could keep track of.

The swings and mini go-kart track add an extra layer of excitement, though it’s worth noting that the go-karts come with an additional charge.

For families with toddlers, the dedicated play area is a great feature. It’s nice to see an indoor park catering to kids of all ages, not just the daredevil tweens and teens.

Room for Improvement

However, there were a few hiccups. A large section near the entrance appeared to be under construction, with boxes and signs of moving-in still visible. The space felt a bit chaotic—likely a result of the high volume of excited visitors since opening. While the concept is amazing, they’ll need to iron out these details to fully deliver on their promise of an exceptional guest experience.

Another pain point was the check-in process, which was very slow, even without a line. Pro tip: fill out your waivers and buy tickets online before heading over to avoid delays.

Bring a water bottle (since bubblers aren’t available, and bottled water is $4).

The slides, while thrilling, might be overwhelming or even a bit risky for younger kids. Take note: the slides are designed for ages 4 and up, but the intensity might better suit older, more adventurous kids.

Who Will Love Slick City?

Slick City markets itself as “fun for all ages,” and while that’s largely true, families with kids ages 7 and up will likely get the most out of the experience. Younger kids can enjoy the play area, but the main attractions—those jaw-dropping slides—are best suited for slightly older thrill-seekers.

Is It Worth It?

Despite some rough edges, Slick City Action Park delivers a unique experience that’s hard to find elsewhere. Whether you’re planning a birthday party, a group outing, or just a day of fun, this is a destination that will leave your kids talking about it for days.

With some operational tweaks and added polish, this could easily become one of the Milwaukee area’s favorite family-friendly spots. In the meantime, come prepared, bring your sense of adventure, and enjoy the ride—literally!
