Småland Magic: Kids Play Free While You Wander IKEA

We’ve all been there, haven’t we?

Navigating the vast maze of IKEA, with a list that seems to grow by the aisle, all while our little ones grow more restless by the minute.

Matching colors, comparing models, double-checking dimensions—it’s almost a Herculean task when coupled with the frequent chorus of “I’m bored!” from our pint-sized shoppers.

Enter the enchantment of Småland at IKEA Oak Creek: a wondrous playland that takes a headache or two away from your shopping spree.

Imagine actually getting to concentrate on the difference between HEMNES and MALM without a curious toddler in tow. 😉

Since reopening in April 2023, shoppers can drop their little ones to play at Småland while they navigate the store with peace of mind—and focus.

A reader recently shared their Småland experience, and it’s the beacon of hope every IKEA-going parent needs to hear:

“Hello! Here to report about Småland. My 4 yo just played in the space and loved it. It’s free for 60 minutes or 90 minutes for IKEA Family members. Children have to be at least 34 inches and potty trained. Last check-in is at 6:30 pm. The space is adorable!”

A magical forest? A cozy movie corner? Or a sea of colorful balls? Småland has it all!

Designed for children who are independently toilet-trained and stand between 95cm and 135cm tall, it’s a safe haven where fun meets imagination.

And don’t worry, you’ll be equipped with a pager and ticket to ensure a seamless and secure pickup.

Still curious? Here’s what you need to know before you go:

  • Småland is a free service for IKEA customers, open daily from 10 am to 10 pm.
  • For safety, there’s a set capacity. On busy days, a little wait might be on the cards.
  • Children are admitted for up to an hour, once per day, ensuring all our little friends get a chance to play.
  • IKEA Family members enjoy a bonus: your kids get an extra half-hour to explore and play, making it a 90-minute escapade into a world of joy!

For more details or to address any questions, strike up a conversation with the friendly Småland coworkers during your next visit.
