The new IKEA store in Oak Creek opens next week, and we got a sneak peek at the amazing space. The massive space is delightfully designed with modern, affordable home furnishings. One of the highlights for this mom of three was seeing Småland, the play area for kids. I’ve got the low-down for you here.
Who: Kids 37”-54” tall
What: You get one hour of supervised child care in Småland so you can shop or look around. (If you’re a Family IKEA member, you get 1.5 hours.) The doors are locked and secure, and the uniformed staff are first aid, CPR, and AED certified. There are pagers (like in a restaurant) to let you know when time is up, or if they need to contact you. They set capacity for safety reasons.
Inside, kids will find a Swedish forest themed play area with trees, wooden toys, movies, a colorful ball pit, a giant clog, hop scotch rug, coloring table, and more.
Where: Småland is located to the right of the IKEA entrance. The new IKEA is located right off the I-94 at 7500 South Ikea Way, Oak Creek, WI 53154.
Other family amenities:
-Family restrooms
-Organic baby food, bibs, and bottle warming stations in restaurant
-Baby care rooms
-Strollers
