Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 has unveiled a brand-new Halloween Village at Baird Community Commons, and it’s here to delight families through October 31st.
Located at the Baird Center (400 W. Wisconsin Ave.), Halloween Village is an interactive outdoor light display that offers unfrightful fun for kids of all ages.
From daylight to nightfall, the space is alive with glowing decorations and whimsical characters perfect for photo ops. You’ll walk through a 12-foot illuminated pumpkin and snap pictures next to larger-than-life figures like a ghost, scarecrow, and even Frankenstein!
Streets of Old Milwaukee Decorated for Halloween
Experience Halloween as it was in the early 1900s at the Milwaukee Public Museum’s Streets of Old Milwaukee exhibit. From Sept. 19 to Nov. 4, the streetscape will feature vintage decorations and seasonal props, showcasing how Halloween was celebrated over a century ago.
Highlights include Granny’s House decorated for a haunted party, vintage Halloween postcards in the Print Shop, and traditional orange-and-black rattles in the Toy Store. A unique way to explore Milwaukee’s Halloween history!

A short distance from the notable Nightmare Before Christmas display in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood stands another Halloween marvel — A&J’S Halloween House, located at 2943 S Clement Avenue.
This year’s theme is “Ancient Aliens”, a spooky spin on world history!
For nearly two decades, the pair has consistently transformed their front yard into various Halloween-themed wonders. Their displays, changing annually, have not only been local sensations but have also received national recognition, with mentions on platforms such as Good Morning America and the Kelly & Ryan Show.
Beyond the captivating visuals, there’s a heartwarming mission behind A&J’s Halloween House. Over the years, the duo has capitalized on the popularity of their displays to raise funds for charity. Their cumulative donations have now reached an impressive $35,000.
Nine Below’s Haunted Mini Golf (10 & up)
For a unique Halloween experience, head to Nine Below on Milwaukee’s East Side for a round of haunted mini golf.
Kids 10 and up will love navigating the 13 creatively creepy holes, each themed for the season—from eerie carnivals to haunted campsites.
On certain nights, live actors dressed as zombies and creepy clowns pop out for extra scares, but there are also “non-scare” days for a more relaxed experience.

Spreading across three lots, the ‘Nightmare on East Vogel’ offers an interactive experience for the brave souls willing to walk its haunted grounds.
Encounter chilling figures like the moldy woman, menacing harvest monsters, towering 12-foot skeletal clowns, the eerie Pennywise, and many others as you activate touch pads that bring the spooky scenes to life.
For those looking to give back, there’s a barrel dedicated to the Urban Cat Coalition. Feel free to drop off cat essentials like food, treats, toys, or litter. And if you wish to make a monetary contribution, a mini coffin awaits your generosity right by the entrance near the apple tree.
Delve into this spectral domain from noon to 10 p.m. on weekends and during weekday evenings, weather permitting. For convenience, additional parking spaces are available on Delaware Avenue.
