Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) pays tribute to its founding leaders at Founders Concert: Italian Maestros and an American Queen, featuring MYSO’s 107-member flagship Senior Symphony. The orchestra will perform works by Italian composers Verdi, Mascagni, and Respighi, as well as the third Symphony of Florence B. Price (1887-1953), the first African American woman to have had a symphony performed by a major U.S. orchestra.
The Senior Symphony has long been recognized as one of the nation’s top youth music ensembles, hailed for artistic excellence both nationally and internationally.
